Karolína Rossi (1983) absolvovala Akademii výtvarných umění v Praze v ateliéru Vladimíra Kokolii. Strávila také semestr na Ecole superieure des beaux Arts v Aix en Provence ve Francii. Pracuje především v médiu malby a akvarelové koláže, s přesahy do prostorových instalací. Svou práci představila v řadě nezávislých galerií i uměleckých institucích po České republice i v zahraničí, například v Galerii Nevan Contempo, prostoru Berlínskej model, galerii moderního umění v Roudnici nad Labem, pražské MeetFactory, nebo Swimmingpool gallery v bulharské Sofii. V roce 2025 se stala laureátkou Ceny Jindřicha Chalupeckého.
Karolína Rossi ve své malířské tvorbě dlouhodobě zkoumá principy a formy života, ale také to, co je za nimi. Poslední cyklus maleb je inspirovaný myšlenkami sufismu, islámské mystiky. Je o vibracích myšlenek i duší, které mohou sahat mnohem dál, než vyslovená slova. Pomyslné „bubliny“, které tvoříme svými myšlenkami, pocity, nebo tužbami své duše, mají vlastní barvy, tvary i zvuky. Společně s vibracemi dalších bytostí a forem pak utvářejí náš vesmír – který můžeme mít každý tak trochu jinak. Každý z obrazů Rossi je takovým vesmírem v malém, shlukem vyjádření za slovy. Zdaleka to nejsou jen abstrakce tvarů a forem. Mluví vlastním mnohovrstevnatým sdělením, kromě toho vizuálního a pocitového snad dokonce i zvukem a vůní.
Karolína Rossi (1983) graduated at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague in the studio of Vladimír Kokolia. She also spent a semester at the Ecole superieure des beaux Arts in Aix en Provence, France. She works primarily in the medium of painting and watercolor collage, with overlaps into site-specific installations. She has presented her work in a number of independent galleries and art institutions in the Czech Republic and abroad, including the Nevan Contempo Gallery, the Berlínský model space, the Gallery of Modern Art in Roudnice nad Labem, Prague's MeetFactory, and the Swimmingpool Gallery in Sofia, Bulgaria. In 2025, she was awarded the Jindřich Chalupecký Prize.
In her paintings, Karolína Rossi has been exploring the principles and forms of life, but also what lies behind them. Her latest series of paintings is inspired by the ideas of Sufism, Islamic mysticism. It is about the vibrations of thoughts and souls, which can reach much further than spoken words. The imaginary "bubbles" that we create with our thoughts, feelings, or desires of our souls have their own colors, shapes, and sounds. Together with the vibrations of other beings and forms, they shape our universe—which we may each experience a little differently. Every one of Rossi's paintings is a small universe, a cluster of expressions beyond words. They are far from being mere abstractions of shapes and forms. They speak with their own multi-layered meaning, not only visually and emotionally, but perhaps even through sound and scent.
