Sura znamená v súfijském učení tón, zvuk nebo vibraci a význam je chápán jako předávání informací, způsob komunikace. Všechny věci, které vidíme, slyšíme a vnímáme, vibrují. Naše existence podle pojmu vibrace není jen existence lidského těla, ale také existence našich myšlenek a pocitů.
Vibrace různého druhu se mohou přenášet z jednoho člověka na druhého, a to i mimo společný prostor. Pozorujeme je v každodenním životě, např. když cítíme náladu druhého člověka, jeho „atmosféru“, aniž by byla vyjádřena slovy. Fenomén telepatie dokazuje, že některé myšlenky, směřující k určité osobě, lze přenášet i na větší vzdálenosti. Jako zázrak pak působí na naše současné, většinou racionální myšlení fenomén synchronicity, kdy stejná myšlenka může nezávisle na sobě vzniknout u různých lidí, kteří nejsou jinak nijak propojeni.
Rozsah vibrací závisí na jemnosti úrovně místa jejich vzniku. Například mluvené slovo může zasáhnout pouze uši posluchače. Myšlenka, vycházející z mysli, však dosáhne dále a přechází z mozku do mozku. Vibrace mysli jsou mnohem silnější než vibrace slov. Samotná atmosféra, která člověka obklopuje, sděluje jeho myšlenky a emoce. Vibrace mají délku i šířku. Mohou trvat nepatrný zlomek času nebo v
větší část věku vesmíru.

Sura means tone, sound, or vibration in Sufi learning, and meaning is understood as the transmission of information, a way of communication. All things that we see, hear and perceive vibrate. Our existence, according to the concept of vibration, is not only the existence of the human body, but also the existence of our thoughts and feelings.
Vibrations of a different kind can be transmitted from one person to another, even outside of a shared space. We observe them in everyday life, e.g. when we feel another person's mood, his "atmosphere", without it being expressed in words. The phenomenon of telepathy proves that some thoughts, directed to a certain person, can be transmitted even over greater distances. Like a miracle, then, the phenomenon of synchronicity, whereby the same thought can arise independently in different people who are not otherwise connected in any way, acts upon our present, mostly rational thinking.
The range of vibrations depends on the subtlety of the level of the place of their origin. For example, a spoken word may reach only the ears of the listener. But the thought, emanating from the mind, reaches further, passing from brain to brain. The vibrations of the mind are much stronger than the vibrations of words. The very atmosphere surrounding a person communicates his thoughts and emotions. Vibrations have length and breadth. They can last for the smallest fraction of time or for the greater part of the age of the universe.
